Diaries kept by Anna Cabot Lowell, 1818-94 (with a gap between 1877-80), during her late childhood, teenage, and adult life, with daily entries pertaining to her life in Boston, Mass. Diary entries include personal thought about her life and faith and descriptions of time spent with her father Harvard professor John, mother Rebecca Amory, brother John, sister Rebecca Amory Lowell, and other family and friends. Also includes descriptions of social engagements; domestic activities; books read; family health; travels; and the weather. Includes detailed diaries kept during a year long trip to Europe, 1874-75 and commonplace books and other notebooks kept 1830-57 (with gaps).
